So. They tell me this is a thing you do on your first day of mutant school.

Mutant school. Isn't that a kick in the ass? I'll spare you the sob-story, but this is a lot more normalcy than I expected in my life after I found out what I could do. Even with the flying kids and the telepaths. Still kind of in shock.

Yup. It's the lack of crazy I find most disorienting.

As for what I do, well, imagine the world and everything in it as interacting waves--light waves, radio waves, microwaves, the electromagnetic fields of all our appliances and gadgets and crap, and the tiny bio-electric pulses of nerves and muscles. That's kind of what I see all the time, except I don't really see it. I'm just ... aware of it in a way that I can't explain without resorting to lame metaphors. And I can control it, too.

So, yeah, if your ringtone pisses me off, you can pretty much kiss it, your cell, and maybe your ability to walk a straight line for a few hours (depending on how bad it is) goodbye.

Double-plus silent is good. Why tempt fate, right? Life is short enough as it is.

And you must be really speedy if you've already heard something, seeing as I only arrived yesterday.

But most of the weird around here seems typical teenage weird. Not the kind I though I'd be dealing with after I found out I cold control one of the fundamental forces of the universe. If nothing else, I thought I'd never have math homework to worry about again.

Not much weirder than any other high school, except for the powers training--and even that's not really too weird. More like an extracurricular activity for kids with laser breath. At least we don't have a marching band. That would be unbearable.

And actually, I see your point about the weird. I don't think we expected life to ever be as normal as it is here. The random superpowered accidents/moments of brilliance are weird, but not really in context.

Our ideas of 'weird' are clearly different, but I'm definitely agreeing about the marching band thing. I don't even wanna know what that'd look like.

I charge stuff with a complementary magnetic field to the one I charge myself with. I throw stuff, it comes back. Or I charge stuff and it follows me around.
