Cher Simon,

Happy birthday! I hope you have an excellent day, and I am sure my brother will make sure you do. I thought if you we're reading for pleasure it would be good if it was something also a little educational, no? :)

I don't think I will see you today, so I will put what I want to say in this note. This year has been the best I have had, not only meeting my brother but seeing him happy here with his friends, and with you. Meeting you and River has been important to me, too. Any family would be lucky to have you and I am glad mine and yours are close.

I know I haven't always been kind to you and I hope you know I regret that, still. I have come to understand you and appreciate you for the strong, trustworthy person you are and my brother likes so well. You and River deserve everything good in life and I hope we can help you find it.
