[Public] Journal Entry: Institute Announcements, 1/26/13

Students,

For those of you who may not have been informed, Elaine Dupree was assassinated today by persons unknown in full view of the public. Please use caution in searching for information on the murder, as the newscasts are showing uncensored footage of the moment of her death.

This attack touches every one of us and I understand that emotions are running high in the face of this senseless destruction of a young life. Headmaster Xavier is on his way to Jackson, Mississippi at this moment to gather information from the source, as it were, and we are putting resources into more traditional investigatory methods as well. Be assured, the fallout from this killing, whatever it may be, will not fall upon us unawares.

As for the more immediate future, we trust each of you to come to us and each other for support as you need. In your daily conduct, we only ask that you continue to remain discreet about the true nature of the school. Secrecy remains the best advantage that we have at the moment.

As always, my door is open to any who wish to speak to me.

Just a note to let you know that we decided to cut the trip short. He's finishing up on the slopes now and we'll be on our way once the competition is over.

Kurt and I are going to early Mass tomorrow, if anyone wants to join. Also, in the evening there is going to be a short service and prayer vigil, and I think we will both go to that, too. Anyone will be welcome--it is not just for members of the Church, but for the whole community.
