Dear Remy,
This is a difficult letter to begin, not least of which because I don't know if it will actually find you. It has taken a substantial amount of my personal and professional resources over this past year to track you down, and now that I think I've done it, it is difficult to know where to start.
We assumed you'd been killed, because it seemed more likely than you running away without a word. Damn near started a tiff with the assassins because of it. Rumor going around that Belladonna's brother Julien disapproved of you, maybe wanted you out of the way. But her father allowed me to question him myself, and he was the deadest of ends.
Imagine my surprise when one of my investigators finally finds you at a school, of all things. I don't understand what's going on, but I wish you'd explain it to us. Your family misses you. And your eighteenth birthday is in four months. We haven't given up on you. Have you given up on us?
Please acknowledge this, and let us know that you're well. And if you are able, come home.
Your Loving Father,
Jean-Luc LeBeau
