om_rockslideThat's right, guys. You read it right. A while back I met some people and I think this could be a real thing someday. What I need is YOUR help! That's right, you! Reading this post! I'm sure you can help somehow!
Alright, here's the scoop about all of it. Everything you need to know, everything we need, and everything I want this baby to be. It's going to take months, maybe years of hard work, but if you love media, if you love mutants, and if you love wrestling, then THIS is your chance to be AWESOME!
The goal of the Mutant Wrestling Federation is pretty simple: to provide quality wrestling entertainment to the masses, with a mutant wrestler roster in a safe, controlled environment. In a lot of ways, it's going to be much like regular human wrestling, but with mutants who can showcase and exercise their powers in safe ways for their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others. The idea is to get people used to the idea of seeing mutants on stage, to see them as figures with personalities and minds, and also see them as entertainers. If they get used to seeing us on stage, they'll get used to us, heck, maybe even look FORWARD to seeing us in real life, outside of the television screen.
So, now that the mission statement is out there, here's what we need!
WRESTLERS! That's right. We need people to get in the ring and show their stuff. If your powers make you tougher, stronger, bigger and badder than your average human, WE NEED YOU! Even those who don't meet all those criteria can still apply! This isn't MMA, guys, we aren't going to be actually beating the crap out of each other! It's acting! Anyone who can learn the moves and the skills can join up and be a part of the action! Anyone who's interested, feel free to shoot me an email or respond to this post!
MEDIA PEOPLE! Of course, I couldn't publicize anything to save my rocky hide. Anyone who's got a mind for PR and can see the merit in this kind of entertainment, get in touch with me! Either shoot me an email or respond to this post! Promotion, networking, public relations, sponsors, advertising, you name it, we need it!
ANNOUNCERS! What's a wrestling match without a guy to get the crowd and audience riled up about the action? INCOMPLETE, that's what! We need a few charismatic guys or girls who can work a crowd and announce the wrestlers, narrate the action a little, and really get things going!
REFS! And of course, we need referees! Anyone familiar with the traditional rules of wrestling can apply for this!
JUDGES! Sometimes it comes to a judges' decision, and we need them!
TECH PEOPLE! Lights, cameras, stage, location, everything! We need it all! Anyone who's crafty and is good with materials that can take a beating, contact me by email or respond to this post, and we can get cooking things up!
MUSICIANS! What's a wrestler without a theme song to get into the ring to? My preference, to keep with the mutant theme of things, is to get mutant musicians to make some rockin' tunes to have mutant wrestlers come into the ring to! You'll get credits, of course, and it might be a solid springboard into your own musical career!
PHILANTHROPISTS! Thank goodness for speech-to-text because I couldn't spell that word to save my life. Anyway! We need, more than anything, funding! I'm just a poor mutant kid from Boston with a big dream! Sure, there's no money in this business yet, but that's because it's not off the ground yet! Once I find someone to be in charge of the financial end of this thing, they'll be the ones to contact about donations and investments. Seriously, guys, this is a gold mine waiting to happen! Wrestling's alive and well after all of these years with regular wrestlers smacking each other around, just you wait to see how the Mutant Wrestling Federation explodes!
This list probably isn't even complete, guys. Seriously, if you think of ANYTHING we could use or need in this, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE! This whole thing will go a long way toward integration of mutants in media in a positive way!
