...but thank you. I don't know how you were able to get Jean-Paul's email address - I probably don't want to know, but I appreciate you telling him about my birthday. I suspect you already know that I wasn't actually sick. I just need some time to figure a few things out before I have to face mom and dad for the holidays. I got the book you sent, by the way. I'm only on the second chapter, but you're right, I love it. You knew I would.
I miss you. But you probably know that too.
I heard that you got the lead role for the Nutcracker again this year - not that it's all that surprising. You're amazing, and you know I won't miss it. I plan to drive down Christmas Eve for the recital, then whatever festivities are going on in town. No doubt mom already has the house decorated. We're planning to organize the decorations here this weekend. Apparently they're having all the decorations shipped in on Saturday, then we can just go to town. I'm not sure I've ever decorated anything in my life before, but I'm looking forward to it.
Take care of our parents. You know how they can be.

om_panaxI am fashionably late to the new student party, I see. I'm Lydia Martin, originally from California. Yes, that's intentionally vague. I've just moved into 101 with Toph Bei Fong. This whole post-holiday cross-country move situation has me a little tired, but I'm sure I'll be my cheerful self again in the morning for classes. With the help of a Valium or two tonight, anyhow.
Beautiful house. My only real complaint is that we need more closet space--and room for an actual vanity would be nice, too. I cannot possibly be the only one who's noticed this.
Also, because Professor Xavier mentioned that we have a few, a polite request to telepaths: if you actually can get into my head, please stay out of it. Thank you.

Personal, invasive question time. Could I see you fly? And could I come with you? If you don't mind the telepathy I'd really love to know what it's like up there. I have this feeling that the space could be nice.
It's not too cold is it? Also, if this is asking too much, please let me know. I'm still working on learning where people's personal boundaries lie in regards to their abilities. I'm not exactly going to go prying for the answers since that's a whole new level of invasive.
