Students:
As of 10PM tonight, two of our own, Laura Kinney and River Tam have gone missing. They attended a concert in New York earlier this evening and did not arrive in at their scheduled time. There was no word from them and they were not answering their phones. Simon Tam and Jean-Paul Beaubier tracked River's phone to Roodenko Park; they found Laura's phone there as well. There were no signs of a struggle and both phones appeared to be deliberately dropped, though not destroyed. Inquiries among the students have revealed no reason that the girls would go off on their own or anyone they would wish to meet in the city.
At the moment, we are working from the theory that both girls have been abducted. Headmaster Xavier and I are already at work attempting to locate them and several students are lending their talents to the search. There is no police involvement at the moment, nor do we have plans to involve them unless we have no other choice.
Until we have a more complete idea of what, if any, level of threat we're facing, we request that students remain on campus unless in the pursuit of school business. Please come to the staff with your concerns or with offers to help.
Rest assured that we will find whoever is responsible for this.
Erik Lensherr, Headmaster
