Right! So, Leo Valdez! I'm fourteen, pretty sure I'm a freshman (PLEASE tell me there are other Freshmen out there, because I'll want to copy your check your homework), and I'm fireproof. Seriously. You can test it. Try and set me on fire. There's no burning. It's way cool.

Also, I build stuff, which I seriously thought was just being awesome at building stuff, but which is now a Mutant Ability! (And here my tech ed teacher figured HE was just awesome!) Want stuff built? I'm your guy.

Is anyone out there? Or is this really just some prank on the new guy?

Wow, we might have to compare notes. Claudia Donovan, mad inventor. I sorta see how stuff works and how to improve it. Mostly I'm into gadgeteering, especially repurposing what comes to hand. Not gonna try the fire thing, I'm inflammable.

I'm sure we could fix that. I was cracking up one April Fool's on Kongregate when they did a prank that among other things replaced the word filter with "narwhal" in chat.

Okay, now reciprocal introduction: My powers are mostly mental stuff - when I write something down I can create hallucinations where what I wrote happens, or I can get people to act out what I write if it's about them (...which is super frowned on by the school, obvs...). It's really great for visualizing plot lines when I'm writing, though! I'm a writer, btw, mostly fanfic but I'm branching out. What do you like to do for fun?

No, still not so cool. Hallucinations might be, though! I'm putting in an order for "Leo fights the giant armed with a screwdriver" hallucination!

Only for a couple of minutes! And I promise I'd make you do only really cool things! Or, well, it seems like it more makes you want to do what I want you to do? So I guess you'd like it anyhow... But you'd definitely remember it after!

It'd be a little tricky to have you fight something but not get pulled into the hallucination, it's probably be all in the wording. But I love a challenge!

Oh, but clarification: who is wielding the screwdriver?

And dragons? Are pretty freaking awesome.

Oh no, I'm cool with hallucinating the dragon! And the me fighting the dragon! With a screwdriver - okay, a dragon with a screwdriver would be cool, but I can't really see it.

So! Me with a screwdriver, the Dragon with fire and teeth and wings, because seriously, what's up with those Chinese dragons that don't have wings? Totally uncool.

Yeah, it wouldn't be that intimidating - and with you having the screwdriver, it's at least a tale of struggle. Vs poor weapon planning.

Don't judge the no-wing dragons too harshly, tho. I mean, think about sea dragons. They're awesome. Also, if they can still hover or whatever, then there's no denying the wicked cool magic. No 'overevolved lizards' excuses for them!

I dunno, there's something just not dragon-ish about dragons without wings. I mean, sea dragons are cool? But land ones that just slither? It's like something missing.

And I could Totally take on a dragon with a screwdriver! Well, and maybe a wrench.

Have you seen it? It's cool.

I am Roberto da Costa, one of the TAs. I am solar powered and set things on fire, I do have full control these days but it's always reassuring to know that there is at least one flame proof student!

Your power set seems rather diverse, though I'm sure useful. I think there are a few other "builders" (by mutation or hobby) around that you will enjoy meeting. I don't have the creativity for it myself, but I do like learning about innovative tech!
