Two of our girls go missing, we're all on lockdown, and you mean to tell me the journals haven't exploded about it yet?! I'm always the last person to get up to speed on this shite, and even I caught wind of the announcement. I thought you teen social media junkie types would be all over this like paparazzi on a gram of uncut Lindsey Lohan.

I know I've not got a particularly useful power for this, but hasn't someone around here grown a 'find your lost keys' and such ability already that could be applied? I really don't even understand how you could take the Mind Reader and the Stabby One anywhere they didn't want to go between them, but I don't like the thought of it at all.

No offence to the crazy old men who keep us all fed, but in case you've not noticed, they haven't much solved our internal problems for us, and now that their students are going missing, I can't say as I'm entirely reassured by 'we'll get right on that'.

It's not about passing on the latest drama about whats-their-name over a smoke for boredom's sake, man. I'm saying this shit is the priority.

I think people who can do something are already doing something (you should see what our room looks like). And those of us who can't do anything... it feels wrong to talk about it. I don't even feel like I should be in the library typing right this second, but I don't even know what else I could do.

I'm not sure what your cleaning habits have to do with all this, but my point exactly is that people should be talking about this, for fuck's sake. I can't pretend it isn't all I've got on the brain, and if it was me, I'd want to think somebody somewhere gave a shit enough to say they'd noticed I wasn't there all of a sudden and quite possibly taken against my will and how wrong a thing that must be, even if I was a right bastard at times.

Saying something and acknowledging it's really happened, that's better than doing nothing at all, isn't it?

What I mean is I live with Philip and he's got all sorts of maps and charts and things to try and figure out how to find Laura and River. What he hasn't got is time to make journal posts.

I'm not saying you're wrong. Just that the people who are doing things are doing them, and that's why they're not talking.

I have to get back upstairs in case Philip needs something.

I think this is a very good sentiment.

But I think everyone gives a shit enough. (I'm not sure how to use that--it doesn't look right?) They're just giving it places other than on the journals. Many people have been very busy trying to find information and help, and I don't think anyone has talked about anything else since.

What about you? Are you all right?

I'm not saying no one's concerned. It's just... I'm fully aware of my own uselessness, you know? And I'm really not used to that being a bad thing.

I'm fine, though. Why wouldn't I be? Apart from the obvious.

I understand. I wish I had some way to vent my anger and frustration. Or to help more. Talking more could either help or just make me angrier. I don't know.

The obvious would be reason enough. It is for me, anyhow.

I recommend now as an excellent time to consider taking up smoking if you haven't done. Highly therapeutic. You also get to look cool, and I would think it's required anyway when you're French.
