Dearest Lydia,
I can genuinely say I have no idea what's going on at school right now, which is a refreshing change, but I hope things are getting better. I was worried about coming home, but now I find myself wishing I didn't have to leave. It's not a realistic wish. It's simply one of those small pieces of pretend, as if the world is a much smaller place. Warren arrived the other day. He's fared pretty well against my family. As you likely ascertained, Brian was the most difficult hurdle to overcome. I'm afraid he'll have it too easy going forward.
When I get back we should plan a vacation. I was thinking a long weekend by the ocean, somewhere secluded enough that no one will find or bother us. We'll work out tactical issues at a later time, but for now I want you to mull over the idea of sunbathing and an ocean breeze. I don't know the area very well, but there must be somewhere for us to rent.
Thinking of you. Hope no other emergencies have manifested. I also hope the general atmosphere has gotten easier to manage.
Best of luck,
Betsy

Dear Betsy,
I'll spare you the larger "what's going on" in order to suspend what sounds like a delicious fantasy--one you fully deserve to live for a while. I'll just say that things are not worse in the house, except that you're missed.
Glad to hear Warren's doing well, there. He was a little nervous about customs and airport security when I spoke with him beforehand--and putting on a brave face about Brian. Do his wings twitch when he's fibbing, or is that my imagination? Either way, adorable.
I am very much in need of this sunbathing and ocean breeze idea. And you, frankly. We will make it all happen. Personal issues have been messy, for lack of a better word. I'll spare you the bulk of that drama for now, too, but the short version is:
Lil Crawley is potentially psychotic.
Scott Summers is an idiot.
and
Damon is being suspiciously sweet and helpful.
All of these things are disturbing, but in combination one doesn't know what to think at all.
My love to you (and the boys, I guess),
♥ Lydia
