Today in the history of my people: we are made famous as creepy messengers that make morose poets even more morose. "The Raven" was published 170 years ago today.

It's a proud day. Be sure to offer any ravens you know perhaps a cracker or perhaps a tasty egg, and a nice head rub would not go awry either?

Left in front of Diaval's bedroom door the evening of his birthday is a gift bag that is suitable but not as shiny as Caius would have liked. Folded neatly inside the bag is a black leather jacket. The tag attached to the bag reads:

Also there are a lot of biscuits from home that Mother sent (today is my birthday) and I cannot possibly eat them all.

You're a bit late on the introductions, Diaval, you know. It only took you five days and a hundred different mentions of I didn't see you on the journals.

So yes, here I am, Diaval Woods, potentially tallest member of what you call the sophomore class. We'll have to see when we line up for class photos. I'm from just outside York, which is in Yorkshire, which is further in England, which is part of the UK, which I hope is common knowledge is part of Europe and subsequently the Earth. Just from listening in the halls, it appears I'm not the only one.

Also, I've been turning into a raven since I was ten, quite regularly. At times I'm a wolf and other times a horse, as well, though only in special circumstances. Should you see me flying by, don't hesitate to stop and chat.
