I never thought I'd get to write this so soon, but I'm going to be coming back to New York on Saturday! Mama's recovery has been much quicker than anyone expected and we'll be able to afford the medication she needs to stay healthy for a long time. Thank you to everyone that offered me support during all of this; I can't express how much it meant or how much it helped. Sam was offered a management position at the mining company and he's going to be staying in Kentucky, but he did ask me to pass on his thanks and his love too.

I miss you all and I can't wait to see everyone! I won't be living at the institute for too long after I get back because I'll be moving in with Shinobi, but I plan to be a frequent visitor so I won't be disappearing again. Not a chance.

I'd say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but I'm feeling a bit too impatient to be philosophical about it. I've missed you and I'm ready to tell you that in person!

Congratulations to your mother's health and Sam's new occupation. Glad that everything is working out and that you'll be back on this side of the world soon. Shinobi has been maudlin and far less colorful in your absence.
