[Public] Journal Entry: Calling All Geniuses!

Hey nerds geniuses, got some awesome voice-to-text software. I only have to pencil-type occasionally. Anyway I've been wanting to do this and every time I've thought about it I like, forgot to put it on here. So here it goes!

All you nerdy genius types should put your heads together if necessary and do this awesome thing I thought of. You'll probably think it's awesome too, and if anyone else has awesome suggestions for this kind of thing, feel free to reply and chip in. Long story short: it would be awesome for you guys to code some awesome programs for the Danger Room that I don't think anyone has thought of yet. The list is as follows:

1) Fight A Dragon. Seriously, that's like, number one on this list. Props to Becky for it. She's pretty awesome even if her power is kind of weird.
2) Pro Football Simulator. You nerds geniuses can probably turn YouTube videos and ESPN footage into a simulator, right?
3) Wrestling Simulator. Same thing as number 2.
4) Pro Basketball Simulator. See above.
5) Pro Baseball Simulator.
6) Pro Hockey Simulator. Seriously sports are awesome guys. Imagine getting to use your powers and beating Wayne Gretzky's stats.
7) Extreme Frisbee Simulator. My idea is that we have like, robots or simulated dudes trying to get the Frisbee from you and your friends. Vic and I played around with the idea but I think it could use a nerd's genius's programming touch.
8) Boxing Simulator. 'Cause who doesn't like a good boxing match?
9) Go Karts! I literally had this idea as I was saying the last few. I was like why not go karts, everyone loves go karts.
10) DDR. Props to Illyana for that one. Preferably something that can bear a high load, in case somebody big and heavy wants to play.

Also don't know if it can but if we could also record the sessions as desired, that would also be awesome. Just so we can like, show it off and stuff to other students. Maybe have some games where there's like, a leaderboard for all the students participating.

Don't know how feasible this stuff is but give me some feedback, nerds geniuses. And let me know if you need me to like, carry something big, or something. 'Cause that's about as useful as I can be in this situation.

I don't ask or judge how you use the Danger Room.

Maybe if you used that 'genius' of yours, you'd realize what everyone else has been telling me: it's dangerous or maybe even fatal for almost everyone at the school to play Frisbee and wrestle with me, 'cause of my size and strength.

Unless you're volunteering an idea or want to try to prove me wrong on that, Quire, shove it.

I was just asking for volunteers. I'm not going to die if this doesn't happen. Maybe you should grab a dictionary if you and your 'genius' self can't remember what the word volunteer means.

I think you're jealous you didn't come up with the idea of fighting a dragon in the Danger Room. Which I wish I thought of, but Becky did first.

If you're capable of reading analytically (which I admit I very much doubt), you'll note that I made no comments whatsoever about Becky's dragon idea.

In any case, you directed your call for volunteers to all nerds, which, considering your definition seems to include anyone with a higher intellect than yours (I suspect this would include most of the wildlife around the mansion), would seem to indicate that anyone who falls in said category is welcome to reply, especially since you asked for feedback. If you'd prefer to hear from one of the squirrels outside, there's probably someone around with the ability to translate their opinions on the subject into words you might be able to understand.

Seriously, Quire, you should go outside, sometime. Throw a ball around, take in some fresh air. It would probably do you some good.

Also squirrels probably have more interesting things to say than what you've been spouting off. Or more productive, at least.

Fight a dragon could be a useful training sim. Not so sure about the rest, or about turning the DR into an entertainment center.

Don't think of it as entertainment. Think of it as useful exercises.

Sports teach teamwork, strategy, coordination, and keep you more fit in situations that are engaging and challenging.

That and the nerds can probably gather some statistics about some people, like how much they can lift, how hard they can throw a punch, how fast they can run, and stuff like that, in more real-life situations.

I don't know, I was just throwing it out there. I thought maybe some of the other kids would want to test themselves against the pros. Or that the nerds might enjoy the programming challenge.

Oh my gosh. I can't believe I agree with Quentin but I can't believe you want to use our highly developed AI holographic training room as a hyped up gym. Where the heck do you get off????

The dragon thing okay yeah I can probably make that work but NO to the rest, ugh, and I will lock anyone else out of the system who tries! Go play games in the ACTUAL gym. This thing is for people training their powers....not getting their jollies and people schedule time in it all the time for that purpose and UGH noooooooooooooooooooo.

Okay, okay, jeez. Like I said, it was just suggestions, based off of the fact that some of us really strong people have a hard time going all-out during the activities we enjoy without possibly hurting people or equipment. I never said you had to do anything, but I also think it's kind of unfair that you want to lock anyone out of the system who tries this stuff.

Is the Danger Room really that in-demand that people taking an hour or two once a week, or every couple of days would throw off everyone's training schedules or something?

Not that I play DDR or anything. I just think some people might get some use out of it, especially if it can take more weight than a normal machine. Like if for some reason a guy my size wanted to play DDR. Not that I do.

To be fair, Kitten, team sports are a really good way to build communication, team strategy, etc. Programming an opposing team to go against squads--powers and all--is actually a pretty good idea?

Ignoring all the 'nerd' stuff and the go karts (SLOW), I actually like this idea, Vacarro!

Thanks bro! And that's pretty much what I was thinking of; either doing simulations based off of real teams and professionals, or making up teams with mutant powers would work great too.

Frankly, I can see the training value in item 7 off the bat: agility, teamwork, and non-lethal subdual.

While I can't say I approve of Monsieur Vacarro's continued habit of throwing around labels, the lack of empathy on display here isn't exactly a high point in mutant solidarity either.

While the main purpose for the holographic interactive gym known as the Danger Room is in helping the students and faculty safely manage and grow their powers and abilities, we recognize that this also means that sometimes, the Danger Room may be used to fulfill quality of life roles such as allowing those with certain powers to 'let loose.'

Mr. Vaccarro's suggestions are both creative and may fulfill this need, and while scheduling precedence will always go to students who are training, the Danger Room may also be programmed for games on occasion. Ms. Pryde, please make sure that all access is given to any student wishing to set up such a scenario with the artificial intelligence known as Danger.
